NOVA Spring 2017 Peer Mentors

Each Spring, NOVA offers the GSD 225S: Leadership Dynamics and Service Learning course, designed to enhance students' leadership skills and instill within them a love of serving others. NOVA Peer Mentors for GSD 225S lead a group of their peers in a service-learning project with a non-profit organization in Madison County. This years community partners are:

  • Madison County Public Library (Allison Lenoir)
  • Madison County Head Start (Chelsea Ragan)
  • Richmond Area Arts Council (Rose Pidgorodetska)
  • Hope's Wings (Tori Swint)
  • Pregnancy Help Center (Courtney Watkins)
  • Richmond Teen Center (Nikea Banther)
  • Grace Now Food and Clothing Bank (Nakia Morrow)
  • Habitat for Humanity (Kendra Helm)

On May 10, 2017, the groups will display their service-learning projects in the form of posters at the NOVA 13th Annual Poster Showcase. Family and friends are invited to attend and vote on their favorite project.
