NOVA According to the NOVAs!
You may be wondering as you have examined our site, “So what can NOVA do for me?” Well, here are a few comments about our program and what we have to offer you.
Take a moment to think about what you want from EKU…and then consider how the NOVA Program can help you get it.
Taylor Best: NOVA has helped me in so many ways. Before the NOVA program, I would not have considered myself to be someone to step up and lead, or someone who communicates effectively. Now I feel like I have achieved that and so much more. NOVA has guided me to be on the right path with my college career and major in Nursing; it has helped me learn how to be a better student, and taught me the skills of a great leader and communicator. Without the NOVA program, I don't know where I would've been in my first year of college.
Kacey Hulker: NOVA has been a useful resource and a great way to meet some incredible people. The advising has been a great second opinion and even impresses my major advisor. It has also been a great way to meet people on campus through the class; I ended up rooming with a fellow NOVA one semester. NOVA has helped me branch out and explore my leadership potential that will be essential throughout my college experience and future career.
Andre Allen: Being in the NOVA Program has taught me to grow in college a lot faster than I had thought I would the summer before. It's a program that has prepared me to take on bigger obstacles in my college career. I've met some fellow NOVA's that are people I can see having friendships with after college. I love the NOVA Program and thank them for everything they've done for me!
Sabrina Moore: NOVA is the first right decision I made in college. It has shaped me into the leader I am today. At first, I was more reserve, quiet, and just let things happen. After being a part of NOVA for one semester I decided not to let things happen, but to make things happen. It has also opened so many doors for me in college, and I am proud to be a part of this family. None of us are perfect, but we are perfect for each other.
Courtney Redmon: NOVA has helped me grow as a person and become a responsible adult. They have given me extreme amounts of support when I didn't believe in myself. NOVA has shown me the right path to go down to achieve my goals and become successful. I am so happy I get to be a part of something this great.
Kevin Gaerke: NOVA has been a crucial in developing my skills professionally and sociably. I have increased my critical thinking, to think beyond the basics. They have given me the resources and family I needed to become a successful EKU student.
Gina Gregory: What I love the most about being a part of the NOVA family is how much everyone has helped me to be successful. When I first came to EKU, I was really shy. Being a NOVA has not only helped me to gain the confidence in myself that permitted me to speak my mind, but it's also helped me to become a leader.
Krystal Carroll: NOVA has helped me grow as a person and grow as a leader. I never thought I would be so willing to help others until I became a part of NOVA and took the service learning course. NOVA has also helped to gain great friends who I will cherish and keep in contact with for the rest of my life. NOVA is my home away from home.
Tory Newton: After thinking about an answer to the question "What has NOVA done for me?" I finally thought, a better question is what has NOVA NOT done for me? It has made me become a more social and outgoing person, a better critical thinker, has given me the courage to ask questions in other classes and prepared me for those classes. Being a NOVA gives me a very large group of friends that I can now call anytime I need them for anything. I look to the other NOVA's as my EKU family.
